Traditional Worship
This worship service is offered in a more traditional style, using the hymns of
the Lutheran Church supported by organ or piano and liturgical settings from the
Lutheran Book of Worship. We are developing a small wind
instrument ensemble to further enhance our music.
Holy Communion is received kneeling at the altar
rail on the first and third Sundays of each month and by processional intinction
on the remaining Sundays.
9:15 a.m. Fellowship, Education and Discipleship Hour
Between the worship services, we offer
refreshments and fellowship, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Christian Education is
offered for all ages, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Small groups also meet during this
time, focusing on discipleship growth.

About Our Worship
The term liturgy means "the work of the people." We offer two styles of
worship at First Lutheran Church; both are faithful to the Lutheran liturgy. We gather to offer our praise and prayers,
to hear God's word in scripture and sermon, to receive the sacrament of Holy
Communion and to be sent into the world as the Body of Christ. The people of
First Lutheran carry out the
ministries of welcome, ushering, scripture reading, worship
assisting , music and audio-visual
support. The pastor leads the worship, offers the sermon in various ways,
including an occasional song, and presides during the sacrament of Holy
Communion, which is offered at all worship services.
